A Letter From The PMI Tampa Bay President Wayne R. Brantley, PMP
Hello PMI Tampa Bay,
What a great start to our 25th year as a PMI chapter. Did you know this was our 25th year? We are over 1750 members and growing. When will we hit 2000 members? Will it be this year? You can help make that happen. Bring your colleagues to the next chapter meeting and get them to join. After all we do have more and more benefits coming your way.
We are at a new location, South University. This great facility has been offered to us for free and this will enable us to (1) remain financially solvent and (2) do more things for you! The reaction was great at our first meeting. Maybe it’s the new format or the lower prices, come find out at our next chapter meeting February 20th. Look for us to add more pre-meeting activities.
Always the networking opportunities are great to come for and we look for other things like offering job opportunities, recruiters, HR experts to help you with resume writing and interviewing skills. Also, look for additional educational opportunities before the chapter meeting.
Please pay close attention to meeting times. We might try and move everything earlier by 15 – 30 minutes based on early feedback. See we listen! We now are offering a recorded on-demand webinar and will be offering live webinar access soon, both at $10.
I am also excited that we have secured a new benefit for PMI Tampa Bay members with the IT Metrics & Productivity Institute (ITMPI - http://www.itmpi.org/) free PDUs for you as a member of the PMI Tampa Bay chapter. You have access to over 500 PDUs through their online on-demand webinars.
If you desire to get your PMP or CAPM certification in 2017 we have the Spring course beginning March 4th. And look for the next PMI-ACP class in April.
I look forward to your feedback on what you think of the new changes and what you would like to see your chapter doing for you. Maybe it’s a presentation topic, a PDU, a symposium, or other new and exciting events we can bring to PMI Tampa Bay.
One idea I have for you is for those of you out of work would you like to volunteer to provide project management support for companies that would like your help? This could be a good way to continue to show work and to get exposure.
Wayne R. Brantley
President, PMI Tampa Bay 2017
