The following Executive Board positions are up for election and require voting by the membership. You will receive an electronic ballot to make your choices and submit back. Unfortunately we did not receive multiple nominations for any of the available open board positions but we do need you to complete the ballot as required of us by PMI.
President-Elect - assists Board in matters of chapter governance; becomes President of 2018 Board; candidate is Kris Champan. Kris has been with the chapter over 10 years and most recently was the VP of Technology.
Kris's vision:This position provides a great opportunity to understand the connectivity and the offerings of the chapter to the members as well as the synergy between chapter and global as well as other chapters (and their members). With this growth, comes the knowledge to lead, to develop (your team/ your chapter), and to inspire other leaders.
VP of Marketing - leads the Marketing strategy for chapter membership and programs; candidate is Kurt Glacy. Kurt is new to the Tampa area and to the chapter. He previously was in Massachusetts and a member of the Boston chapter.
Kurt's vision:This role will continue to be instrumental in the development of strategy for the chapter. In particular, this person will help the chapter to thrive through increased participation resulting from added value to the benefits of membership that already exist. By engaging directly with the chapter members, we can discover what the day-to-day needs are that people have in their careers, personal development, and growth.
VP of Member Services - leads the Member Services program; candidate is Alex Castro. Alex just completed a 2 year term in this position and has nominated for another term in this position.Alex's vision:Under Alex's leadership, the PMI Tampa Bay (PMITB) Chapter has seen greater than 11% membership growth in 2016 and now exceeds 1670 members, a PMITB Membership record. Alex's highly engaged Member Services Team is on pace to exceed 2000 members by 2017.VP of Communications - leads the chapter and board Communications strategy and delivery; candidate is Len Terranova. Len just completed a 2 year term in ths position and has nominated for another term.Len's vision:Move to state of the art tools that can increase the effectiveness of communications. Also, to recruit an experienced Social Media Director.
VP of Professional Development - leads the Professional Development programs; candidate is Karen Scangarello. Karen has been managing this role in the last half of this year. Karen's vision:to improve and promote professional development opportunities offered by the PMI Tampa Bay chapter. • Streamline and improve CAPM/ PMP Prep courses; including offering a la carte options for Q&A and mentoring sessions for candidates that cannot attend the 4-week course or are self-study candidates (piloted this Fall). • Build ACP instructor pipeline to bring ACP Prep courses in house using a blended learning approach with self-paced online training complemented with one day instructor led training. • Create meetup groups to support CAPM, PMP, and ACP prep course candidates; to provide mentoring to and networking opportunities focused on professional development via birds of a feather flock together topics prior to monthly chapter meetings (focused on project management topics, sharing best practices, learning about different industries/ companies, etc.). • Restructure Professional Development team to gain efficiencies and provide professional development via volunteering opportunities. • Improve Professional Development Days offered to provide current and relevant topics to chapter members. • Investigate PBA credential and how we can support as a chapter.
VP of Programs – leads the Programs strategy and delivery;position remains open and candidate still to be determined.
