Topic:  Managing the Younger Generation (Millennials and GenX)

Speaker:  Mark Ruscitti, PMP

Projects today frequently are composed of team members that are Millennials and GenX.  These young people are very productive and competent, but often unengaged.  They’re also very demanding and get bored easily. 

Managing successful projects with today’s young talent can be challenging.  I will discuss the things that motivate these generations and provide tools for PMs to use to keep themselves in balance so that they can deal with the challenges that these team members bring to the table.  

Additionally, we will look at ways to motivate them to be engaged and excited.  I will introduce some Management 3.0 concepts and some gamification techniques.  

Mr. Mark Ruscitti is a Global technology leader-teacher-speaker who excels at motivating, coaching, establishing and developing super-teams.  Mark has spent over 20 years leading global software development teams, global support teams, and global shared service teams.

Mark has served multiple roles in senior management, project management and as a PMO member while demonstrating a flexible management style and mentoring culturally diverse teams.  Mark is passionately devoted to improving communication and relationships to achieve organizational objectives as well as helping young team members advance along Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

He is a member of PMI and achieved his PMP certification in 2010. Mark travels globally as a leader and speaker.
