Volunteer

Welcome to Tampa Bay PMI's Volunteer Portal!

Get Involved ... Make a Difference ... Be a Volunteer

Thank you for showing an interest in volunteering your time, skills, and talents for the Chapter!

What We Do

The Tampa Bay Chapter focuses on creating educational and professional opportunities for the benefit of the Chapter members.  The success of the Chapter is only possible through the efforts of our volunteer members. Their dedication and commitment are what keep the Chapter going.

We always need volunteers to join our team as the Chapter continues to grow and broaden its services to our member community. You can volunteer as an elected Vice President, a member of the Board of Directors, a team member working in a specific area, or to help with an individual event.

Reasons to Volunteer

  • Opportunity to effect change and to initiate improvements
  • Personal and professional growth by sharing your talents and giving back to the chapter
  • Opportunity to work with other professional project managers from many organizations
  • Great social events (chapter meetings, conferences, seminars, certification training, recognition programs, etc.)
  • The knowledge that what you are doing has a positive long-term impact
  • Opportunity to expand your leadership skills
  • And of course, earn PDUs while doing it.

All members of the PMI Tampa Bay Chapter are eligible to volunteer. In addition, South Florida University students may volunteer at any event held on campus.

Four Levels of Volunteering with PMI Tampa Bay

Executive Board Officers

Elected by the membership, this group provides overarching governance to the Chapter.

Board Directors

This group consists of volunteers who are appointed by and report to the Vice Presidents. Directors lead specific areas within the Vice President's area. Directors may have committees or teams reporting to them.

Committee/Team

These members are appointed by VPs or Directors and work on specific ongoing tasks and/or special projects.

Ad-Hoc

Individuals work at events such as Chapter Meetings, Networking Events, PMP Prep Class, PDDs, or the annual Symposium. Volunteers may also work on one-time or special projects such as a website update or process improvement project.

These roles offer flexibility as they require a commitment only for the specific events you sign up to work. They are a great opportunity to meet new people and get started as a volunteer for the Chapter.

Please consider joining us as a fellow volunteer.
