The Four Quadrants of the Emotionally Intelligent Successful Project Manager

What are the skills and traits that make for a successful project manager? I remember in my youth a television show; The Six Million Dollar Man. The premise was that an astronaut, Steve Austin is severely injured, and he is rebuilt at a cost of Six million dollars (in the 70’s, now worth over 35 million dollars).  He became superhuman. What of we could make a six-million-dollar project manager?  What skills and traits would be put in them?

The four quadrants of a successful project manger are based on the concepts from Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence.  They are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. We will explore what we can do to develop and mature these four areas. We will examine the tools and concepts available to us to become “impactful and successful” project LEADERS.
