On Demand 2021 June Chapter Meeting: "Understanding Individual Perspectives of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI)"

Inclusivity in the Workplace: How to foster it and what is required in your leadership to bring forth inclusivity in the Workplace? It begins with education and seld-reflection. Identifying the motivation behind your desire to unpack a legacy of structural racism in America and to do something about it is a personal and introspective process.


Learning Objective 1:
To help organizations better understand why it is important to be knowledgeable about diversity, equity, inclusion.

Learning Objective 2:
To help organizations understand stereotypes, prejudices, privileges, microaggressions, implicit bias, racial, and social injustices.

To create awareness and conversation about the historical facts of racism in the United States.

Richard Butler is the HR Manager for Talent and Wellness Development for the City of Pittsburgh. Richard is also an adjunct professor at Robert Morris University. He has taught Leadership; Organizational Ethics; Argument, Research, Understanding, and Managing Diversity in the Workplace; and Applied Organizational Leadership Skills.
 
Additionally, Richard has been a fitness professional for over 38 years. He has trained and coached thousands of NCAA athletes, Olympians, NFL, NHL, and members of the USA Karate Team. He is the owner of Coachrtb Coaching and Leadership Group. Coachrtb Coaching and Leadership Group is a diversity, equity, inclusion consulting practice that focuses on real-world problems with real-world strategies. We help organizations create a work environment that is culturally and racially literate based on
education, self-reflection, and continuous training at all levels of the organization to drive sustainable change. We customize our content for presentations, training, and
workshops. Our topics include Microaggressions, Implicit Bias, Anti-Racism, Inclusivity in the Workplace, Cultural and Racial Literacy.
 
Furthermore, he is the former Executive Director for Three Rivers Rowing, former Inclusion Manager for USRowing. He presently is the Co-Chair for the US Rowing’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. (DEI) He also served on the US Rowing Diversity Taskforce and the United States Olympic and Para Diversity Committee
