November Military Appreciation Chapter Meeting

From Service to Strategy: Career Transition, Well-Being, and Project Management for Veterans and Service Members

Military experience builds valuable skills in leadership, planning, logistics, risk management, and mission execution. How can veterans and service members translate those strengths into civilian careers while navigating the personal changes that come with life after service?

Join PMI Tampa Bay for our Military Appreciation Chapter Meeting, featuring a practical and candid panel discussion about career transition, project management, and well-being. Together, we’ll explore how meaningful employment, supportive workplaces, professional connections, and access to resources can help veterans and their families thrive.

Transitioning from military service involves more than finding a new job. It can bring changes in identity, daily routines, family responsibilities, financial security, and support systems. This conversation will address both career opportunities and the broader needs that shape a successful transition.

💡 What We’ll Explore:

  • Translate military experience into civilian opportunities: Communicate your leadership, accomplishments, and transferable skills in language employers understand.

  • Build a practical transition plan: Consider career goals alongside financial, family, and personal well-being needs.

  • Create career momentum: Explore résumés, interviews, LinkedIn, networking, certifications, education, and mentoring.

  • Support well-being and resilience: Discuss the role of meaningful work, routine, peer connection, and access to mental-health and wellness resources.

  • Strengthen veteran-friendly workplaces: Learn how employers can create inclusive, supportive environments where veterans can succeed.

  • Connect with local resources: Discover Tampa Bay–area veteran, employment, health, and community support.

This program is especially relevant to active-duty service members preparing to transition, veterans, Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, employers, recruiters, project-management professionals, and community partners. Everyone is welcome!
